Who are Unda?

Our highly qualified team originate from across the UK, and include some of the UK’s most experienced Flood Risk Consultants, Drainage Engineers and Hydrologists. By putting our local knowledge to good use, our team has a breadth of experience of negotiations and engagement with Environment Agency, Insurers and Local Planning Authorities which ensures that we are best placed to provide detailed local level knowledge for every Flood Risk Assessment undertaken.

Edward Bouët

Senior Consultant

Edward Bouët is Senior Flood Risk Consultant at Unda. He has over 10 years academic and industry experience managing flood risk, and has been instrumental in bringing many market-leading flood risk mapping, modelling and consultancy products and services to market.
Day-to-day, Ed assists developers, architects, planners and homeowners with flood risk issues. He produces Flood Risk Assessments for planning applications, insurance underwriting, and property purchases.

Darren Stone

Senior Consultant

Darren is Senior Environmental Risk Management Consultant at Unda. He has nearly 25 years of global experience assisting corporations to better understand and manage risk. Climate change and flood risk is a particular specialty in direct relation to the insurance industry. Darren brings to Unda a wealth of practical experience seeking to find solutions to problems and not merely identifying an issue. Darren is responsible for business development on Unda’s IT platform, seeking to streamline reporting and communicating this back to clients in a clear and concise fashion.

Jackie Stone

Flood Risk Consultant

Jackie is a Flood Risk Consultant at Unda. She has a successful track record with nearly 20 years’ experience working at various levels in all aspects of the environment sector from environmental data, charity, consultancy and insurance companies. She is involved in all aspects of consultancy, with a particular focus upon commercial, insurance, conveyance, domestic and power projects, which have been predominantly for the English and Welsh planning system with use of the NPPF/PPS25 and TAN15.

John Douglass

GIS Specialist

John is a GIS and Water Quality Specialist with over 8 years’ experience in GIS and environmental modelling. He has a background in database and model development and has worked on key Defra projects such as Catchment Sensitive Farming and the Water Framework and Nitrates directives.
Day-to-day, John provides expert GIS and mapping advice to Unda clients, performing analysis to help quantify flood risk.

Scott Ferguson

Surface Water Specialist

Scott is a Surface Water Specialist with more than 25 years in the industry he is extremely knowledgeable, working overseas and in the UK on a wide range of Flood Risk, Water Resource and Hydro-power projects. He is an experienced hydrologist and hydraulic modeller, with excellent knowledge of the UK flood risk management policy and planning framework. Having previously worked at the Environment Agency and SEPA, as well as in private consultancies, he has a good perspective from both the regulatory and developer viewpoints.

Day-to-day Scott provides specialist advice to clients on surface water drainage strategy and hydrology.

Oliver Metcalfe

Trainee Flood Risk Consultant


Oliver is a recent graduate from the University of Bristol working as a Trainee Flood Risk Consultant at Unda. Day-to-day he works with Senior Flood Risk Consultants across the company as part of an in-house training scheme and writes articles for the website.

Peter Edmonds

GIS Specialist

Peter is a GIS and Marine Data Specialist with over 8 years’ experience. He has a strong background in environmental science and GIS and has advised on many UK government and European Commission initiatives such as INSPIRE.
Day-to-day Peter provides expert GIS and mapping advice to Unda clients, performing analysis to help quantify flood risk.

Flo Harris

Trainee Flood Risk Consultant

Flo is a Trainee Flood Risk Consultant currently working closely with the Senior Flood Risk Consultants as part of an in-house training scheme Involved in all aspects of the Flood Risk Consultancy with a particular speciality in producing reports for renewables (i.e. solar, ground source heat pumps and biomass plants) aimed at the agricultural markets.
