About Unda

Jackie co-founded Unda and brings over 30 years of leadership in environmental consultancy, across flood risk, environmental data, insurance and risk management. She oversees flood risk projects and the running of the business, advising clients in the commercial, residential, insurance and infrastructure sectors, with a deep grasp of the English and Welsh planning systems. She is a CIWEM Environmental Partner and sits on the committee of CIWEM’s South Eastern Branch. Outside work she is usually with her dog, horse and goats, restoring her Grade II listed home, or championing rewilding.

Edward co-founded Unda and has over 20 years in flood risk and drainage. He leads the development of Unda’s services, with a particular focus on bringing flood risk assessment for planning and drainage strategy together on technically challenging sites. He works closely with developers, planners and property owners, and is regularly asked to comment on flood risk and climate resilience in the national press – see his media coverage and expert-witness work. Outside work he follows rugby and motorsport, and takes on hands-on building and DIY projects.

Emma is a Senior Flood Risk Consultant with over 20 years in the industry and has been with Unda since 2016. She leads flood modelling and site-specific flood risk assessments for developers, insurers, local authorities and water companies, including international multi-source modelling. Her technical home is hydrological and hydraulic modelling and UK flood risk legislation. Her interest in flooding began with surface water flooding of her childhood home; outside work she enjoys group exercise classes and countryside walks with her family.

Antony is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager (C.WEM MCIWEM) with over seven years in the sector, and leads Unda’s growing drainage and SuDS team. He delivers drainage strategies and flood risk assessments for due diligence and planning across the UK, for clients from multinationals to private landowners, and is skilled at working with regulators to keep projects on time. He is known for his detail and for explaining complex risk in plain terms. Outside work he plays and watches cricket, and travels whenever he can.

Ellen is a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant and a Graduate Member of CIWEM, who joined Unda after a BSc (Hons) in Geography at the University of Southampton. She prepares flood risk assessments and surface water drainage strategies with a particular interest in SuDS, on projects from small residential schemes to constrained, complex sites. She takes real pride in careful, policy-compliant detail. Outside work she enjoys music and plays the flute.

Jesy is a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant and a Graduate Member of CIWEM, with an MSc in Water and Environment Management. She focuses on flood risk for property purchase, due diligence and insurance, and brings strong GIS, technical writing and assessment skills, with particular knowledge of London council requirements and River Thames breach extents. She values long-term client relationships built on trust and transparency. Outside work she is sewing indoors or out with a camera, photographing wildlife.

Freya is a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant and a Graduate Member of CIWEM, with undergraduate and master’s degrees in geography specialising in rivers and flood modelling. She quotes and delivers flood risk assessments for planning under the NPPF and TAN15, alongside insurance and property-purchase reports, on projects from small extensions to large commercial conversions. Outside work she is a keen motorsport fan and enjoys exploring new places.

Kacper is a Graduate Flood Risk, Drainage and Geospatial Consultant, with an MSc in Geospatial Sciences from UCL and a first-class BSc in Computer Science from Royal Holloway. He works on flood risk assessments and surface water drainage strategies, and is Unda’s in-house specialist for GIS and automation, building the mapping, figures and reporting workflows behind our reports in QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Python and R. His master’s research assessed the impact of surface water flooding and landslips on the GB rail freight network, using Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and SEPA flood datasets. That work led to him being invited to join his department’s research group on multi-hazard impacts to multi-modal freight networks, where surface water flooding remained his focus.

Baz is Unda’s most enthusiastic, and least qualified, team member. He provides vital support in the office and on site visits, mainly through tail-wagging and morale-boosting, with a sideline in locating the nearest custard cream. When he is not inspecting drainage ditches he can be found asleep on Jackie’s desk, or with his goat friends at home.
