Our Flood Risk and Drainage Assessment Projects
Unda’s consultants have completed hundreds of flood risk assessments from large housing developments to individual extensions, for buildings undergoing change of use to new hotel developments.
Below are some of the projects we have completed recently and provide reassurance that Unda is the right consultancy to provide you with an effective assessment to understand your issues and importantly provide a solution.
Case Study: Flood Risk Assessment for Insurance and Due-Diligence
Unda was contacted by a private individual seeking to resolve a seasonal surface water flood issue they had encountered after purchasing their £million family home of their dreams in the heart of the Sussex countryside.
Case Study: Flood Risk Assessment for a Property Transaction
Unda was approached by a private client looking to purchase a converted Oast House in the Kent countryside. As part of the conveyancing process, a residential flood search report was carried out on the property which highlighted a potential risk to surface water flooding on the site and surrounding area.
Case Study: Groundwater Assessment to support a pre-application for residential development.
Unda was contacted by a local builder looking to develop a plot of land for 7 residential units which was previously used as allotments. Residents surrounding the site were opposed to the proposed development for a number of reasons; it was the only green space left in the heart of the village, historical groundwater flooding had occurred in the village and the site was located adjacent to a protected watercress bed which was believed to be fed by various groundwater springs located on and rear the site.
Case Study: Surface Water Drainage Strategy for Planning
Unda was appointed by an Eco-property entrepreneur who required an effective Surface Water and Foul Water Drainage Strategy to support his planning application for the proposed development of a new 35 bed Eco-hotel with access road, large parking area and the benefit of trees and shrubs around the periphery of the proposed development site in Cheshire.
Case Study: Flood Risk Assessment to support a change of building use.
Unda was approached by a regular client who was overseeing the development and subsequent change of use of a 3 storey commercial building to residential flats. As the development would lead to people inhabiting the building on all 3 floors the regulator requested a Flood Risk Assessment as the building was located in flood zone 3.
